  1. Well this was really surprising to me, because my family has owned a Ford Explorer, a Nissan Altima and a Honda Accord, and we didn't have or haven't had any problems with any of those cars at all. Of course they weren't the same year numbers as the ones on the list, so maybe that is why. In fact, it was quite the opposite- those cars were or have been superb, in particular the Ford Explorer. The 1998 Ford Explorer we owned for at least 6 years, and it took everything we threw at it. We made it go through the most terrible terrain- I mean really bad terrain-, every week for some three years time, and it worked flawlessly. That was an extremely reliable car that could take quite some punishment. As for the Accord and the Altima, we never had a single problem with them, and I can honestly say that they are highly reliable. Maybe we got lucky, or maybe the automakers really outdid themselves with those models during the time period that we bought them... all I can say is that this list was really surprising.
